About Repair PDF
Corrupt or damaged PDF files are frustrating — you have important content trapped in a file that will not open, displays errors, or crashes your PDF viewer. PDFSpot's PDF Repair tool attempts to reconstruct and recover content from damaged PDF files by analysing and repairing the file structure. PDF files can become corrupted for many reasons: incomplete downloads where the file transfer was interrupted; storage media errors (bad sectors on a hard drive or USB drive); software crashes during PDF creation or editing; file system errors; virus or malware damage; email corruption during transmission; or files that were truncated due to storage limits. Our repair tool analyses the internal PDF structure — the cross-reference table, object streams, page tree, and content streams — and attempts to reconstruct damaged or missing parts. For partially corrupted files, it can often recover most or all of the pages. For severely damaged files, partial recovery may still save content that would otherwise be completely lost. Common signs of a corrupt PDF: the file opens to a blank document; your PDF viewer shows an error like 'File cannot be opened', 'Invalid PDF structure', or 'This file is damaged'; the file opens but some pages are blank or garbled; the file crashes your PDF application on opening. Please note: severe corruption (where the core file structure is completely destroyed) may result in no recoverable content. Success rates vary by the type and extent of damage. All uploaded files are processed securely and deleted within one hour.
How to use Repair PDF

If repair is successful
If repair is successful, download the repaired PDF. Check that pages and content have been recovered correctly.
If only partial recovery is
If only partial recovery is possible, the tool will indicate how many pages were recovered and offer what was salvageable.
